Tonic Triad in A -minor
Tonic Triad in A -minor
You prolly remember tonic triad from the beginner level, it's simply a chord made up of the 1st, 3rd and 5th degree of a scale. In the Minor scale as well the same rules ARE followed. So pulling that A-minor Scale again :
A B C D E F G A
We have the tonic triad with the notes : A, C and E. You'll remember that the Major triads were labelled with the roman numeral 'I' to signify that the chord is based upon the first degree of the key. Similarly the minor tonic triad is symbolized by 'i'. And similarly whenever uses only the notes of the tonic triad it's labelled with "Am" above the chord.
And yeah, again ... that's pretty much it
