As we go deeper into Music theory, we'll be breaking components into smaller and smaller pieces, and now we'll do the same with the notes we had learnt last time, and I'll be telling you something about the dotted note.
Single Quavers
This is a single quaver , we have learned about the semi quaver note in the beginner level as well, but we never addressed them as singular entities, in the intermediate level you'll be learning how to use them in a more advanced manner and also how to GROUP them which honestly I kinda always found a lil weird.
Remember that these notes last for half a crotchet beat (I swear to god if you dont remember what a crotchet beat it )
2. Dotted Crotchet
This right over here is a dotted crotchet, Now to explain this note I'll need to use a little bit of math ( See maths is imp. everywhere, so read your books !!! ).
Basically, whenever there is a dotted note, it means that we add half the value of the original note to the original note and count the beats.
Like, in this case it is a dotted crotchet, so we know that half a crotchet beat is nothing but a quaver beat.
So, a dotted crotchet = 1 crochet beat + 1 quaver beat
= 1.5 crotchet beats
3. Semi Quavers
A semiquaver lasts for a quarter of a crotchet beat.
And for the intermediate level these notes are always GROUPED of fours,, don't ask me why.
yeah that's it, I am bored now. Bye
PEACE ! 🎼 👈 that’s a treble clef btw :)
