First Inversion of Tonic Triads
First Inversion of Tonic Triads
Uptil now, we've only written the tonic triads in their root position. In this I'll introduce you to the concept of first inversions.
in the root position what basically happens is that, the root note or the tonic is at the bottom, in the first inversion we take this bottom root note up an octave and let the 3rd degree note (remember that tonic triads are made up of the 1,3 and 5 degree) be at the bottom. It will look something like this
Root position of the C-major Tonic Triad

And well yeah that's it.
till next time,
PEACE ! 🎼 👈 that’s a treble clef btw :)
