Welcome to Music Theory Made Easy — your go-to spot for learning the basics of music without falling asleep halfway through a Raag! We believe music theory doesn’t have to be scary, stuffy, or filled with words that sound like ancient spells (we’re looking at you, gamakas ). Whether you're just starting out with an instrument, writing your first song, or simply wondering what the heck a "swara" is, we've got your back.
Our fun, bite-sized articles are designed to make music theory simple, engaging, and even a little bit funny — because why shouldn’t learning about alap and taans come with a few laughs? Dive in, explore at your own pace, and discover how music really works... without needing a PhD in Classical Confusion. Let’s make learning theory feel more like a jam session and less like a math test.
We aim to deliver the basics of music theory in a fun, engaging way(free of cost, obviously). We have divided our course into two parts : Beginner and Intermediate.
At the beginner level, we give a basic introduction to music theory and the various abstractions and symbols that you might encounter during your musical journey.
In the intermediate level, we make an attempt to dive a little deeper into the concepts and tell you more of the technical stuff that a professional musician uses and is commonly seen in sheet music.
Try out each and every lesson at your own pace and then experiment at NoteSwar
