This now, probably, is going to be a very short article where we simply tell you a very simple rule while writing notes on the stave. And also introduce you to the MIDDLE C.
A high note is one that is present near the top of the stave. A low note is one that is present near the bottom, and a middle note is one that is on the middle line, i.e. the 3rd line(from both top and bottom, it is the 3rd line).
While drawing the stem for a high note, we need to make it to the left of the note head it should be drawn towards the bottom.
And while drawing the stem for a low note, we need to make it to the right of the note head and draw towards the top.
The stem of a middle note can be drawn up or down, and the side depends on whether it's drawn up or down. If it's drawn down, it'll be on the left side, and if it's drawn up, it'll be on the right side.
A Piano player would know that they usually play the low notes using their left hand and the high notes using their right.
[High Notes ] [Middle Notes] [Low Notes]
The middle C is simply a note like any other note, so why do we need a whole another article for it?
Just for fun ~~~.(I am just kidding, we can actually use the middle C as a nexus between the treble and bass clefs)
The middle C is really just C4 and is called so because it is usually the middle most note of any keyboard or Piano.
On the stave it lies on its own cute line known as a leger line.
Note* - leger lines are drawn the same distance away from the stave as the stave lines are from each other.
Over her in the image given beside, you can see the Middle C in both the treble and bass clefs.
Remember that the Middle C is just one Note, so in both the clefs they are the same note and thus give us a idea where both the clefs might meet.
Anything below the middle C on the treble clef, we are reaching into the notes on the stave of the bass clef.
And anything above the middle C on the bass clef, we are reaching into the notes on the stave of the treble clef.
An interesting fact to know is that, if the middle C is represented in the bass clef, then it is played with the left hand by a piano player, and if it is in the treble clef, it is played with the right hand.
And that’s All for this article ! To quench your intrigue and clear the plot holes that we created in this lesson do check out our other articles .
